Porsche Centre Oman hosts kids driving school at Grand Hyatt Muscat

Porsche Centre Oman, SATA LLC, in association with the Grand Hyatt Muscat, hosted the Porsche Kids Driving School, a unique road safety activity aimed at children aged five to nine through the concept of 'edutainment', reinforcing educational objectives in a creative and exhilarating environment.

The Porsche Kids Driving School cultures the importance of safety in following the rules of the road, including behavioral responses at traffic signs.

"The Porsche Kids Driving School was established in response to the staggering number of road traffic accidents and casualties in Oman," said Yvonne Welling, Marketing Manager at Porsche Centre Oman, SATA LLC. "In placing a sense of responsibility in children's hands and allowing them to apply essential traffic rules on the track, we are nurturing a more informed future generation of drivers who will act as advocates of road safety."

Qualified instructors were on hand to outline the fundamentals of traffic safety such as the approach of a pedestrian crossing and the significance of wearing a seatbelt, basics that one should be exposed to at a young and influential age.

The children's learnt skills and knowledge were put into practice on a specially designed set up parcour, complete with roadways, zebra crossings and working traffic lights.

More than 100 children relished the simulated driving experience in their very own Porsche 911 pedal car in signature red around the Grand Hyatt Muscat car park turned driving course, a lifelike rendition of a city's road infrastructure.

Christoph K. Franzen, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Muscat, said, "The event was met by overwhelming response by both children and parents, and we are proud to be associated with an organization that shares our conviction of placing road safety at the top of every agenda. We hope that the children will not only remember the excitement of a Porsche fashioned first drive, but the very reason they were behind those pedal cars."

After successfully completing the course, all children received a special accolade for safe driving called "My First Driving License", and parents were presented with a "Porsche Safe Driving Handbook" that provided useful advice on how best to travel safely with children.
