Main mission
The CR Project Manager will be seconded at BNP Paribas MEA in Bahrain, and will implement and manage a corporate responsibility programme that is aligned to the bank’s CR strategy globally.
Job purpose summary
- Oversee execution of existing CR projects
- Develop and propose new projects in line with the bank’s CR strategy
- Promote BNP Paribas’ CR initiatives internally and externally
Key responsibilities
BNP Paribas aims to develop a CR programme that engages and inspires employees internally, builds the brand and reputation of the bank and truly makes the Bank a responsible business in the MEA Region. The strategy will focus on four key areas: Community, Workplace, Marketplace and Environment. The CR Manager will be required to do the following, among other things:
CR Management
- Define a vision, mission, strategy and action plan for corporate responsibility that guides CR activity and its stakeholders as one cohesive unit, including the set-up and management of a regional CR Committee, CR action Groups, and CR Coordinators
- Develop an extension of the CR team within the business through CR champions which will support the delivery of the CR vision and maximise the financial resources allocated to CR
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the right projects are being implemented
- Deliver an integrated approach to CR communications, ensuring that all PR, Communications, Online and Social Media around CR initiatives effectively support the organisation and implementation of CR initiatives
- Instil a disciplined reporting approach; updating management on progress, trends, competition’s initiatives, etc.
- Identify and introduce appropriate research and evaluation methodologies to continuously assess progress performance goals to measure our progress in each strategic area of focus: Community, Workplace, Marketplace and Environment and recommend improvements leading to tangible program planning and results
- Manage the CR team
- Liaise with HQ on all projects
Community
Through our focus on Education, we aim to ensure that the bank supports diverse projects that help to make communities in the region more sustainable. Key activities include but are not limited to:
- Defining the key criteria, policies and processes for the selection and implementation of initiatives; research and create partnerships; assess opportunities for community investment programs; instil measures to track progress; work closely with Human Resources to engage employees for volunteering purposes
- Ensure successful operation of the BNP Paribas MEA education flagship project, the BNP Paribas Career Centre in Qatar, which is dedicated to providing students with high quality career development services. The Career Centres represent a strategic decision by the bank to work towards bridging the gap between education and employment in the private sector and further help its local economies in the MEA region to diversify.
- Liaise with local/ regional communities and governments to ensure success
- Manage all PR, Communication and Online and Social Media around the Centres
- Monitoring and reporting on the goals and targets of each Center
- Oversee other stakeholder contributions both internal and external
- Direct involvement in project delivery, e.g. meetings, interviews, site visits, research etc.
- Manage the Career Center Manager
- Establish and oversee the MEA staff corporate volunteer programme, and ensure that at lest 5 volunteerism projects are implemented around the region per year.
- Manage the Bahrain Equal Possibilities Center, which is part of the Bahrain Ministry of Social Development’s Rehabilitation Program for individuals with disabilities.
- Activate educational sponsorships & support programs in the region, including support to the Sorbonne in Abu Dhabi and the Arab Gulf University in Bahrain
Workplace

Key activities include but are not limited to developing, implementing and measuring a Workplace program locally in partnership with HR

Through our focus on the corporate governance, microfinance, customer service and ethical investment we aim to ensure that the bank supports initiatives that drive forward initiatives, ensuring we do business fairly and with integrity. Key activities include but are not limited to developing, implementing and measuring a Marketplace program locally.
Environment
Through our focus on energy, transport, waste and recycling and sustainable products we aim to ensure that the bank supports initiatives that develop action plans, set reduction targets, reduce our environmental impact and engage our employees, suppliers, and eventually customers in practical and sustainable ways. Key activities include but are not limited to developing, implementing and measuring an environment program locally.
