Allen & York are currently looking to appoint an experienced profile to accept the role of Director of International Cooperation & Partnerships at the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), a leading international scientific research organisation focussed upon water resource management and biosaline agricultural production.
The Director of International Cooperation & Partnerships will assume the lead for developing and implementing strategic partnerships.
- He/she will establish links with relevant institutions and identify areas of collaboration and possible funding of joint activities
- Develop and Implement fund-raising strategies
- Provide strategic direction and leadership on marketing and external engagement activities
- Contribute to the overall leadership as a member of the Management Group
- Oversee major research proposals writing up, to ensure alignment with the granting agency criteria as well as alignment with the strategic priorities
- Increase global visibility of the organisations work and capabilities
- Identify sources of funding through appropriate communication tools and strategies
- Represent the organisation in relevant international forums
Applicants are expected to meet each of the following criteria:
- Ph. D. Degree from a recognized university with a specialty in a scientific or technical area related to agriculture. An applied MBA or Business degree would also be considered an advantage.
- Extensive experience in conducting scientific research
- Extensive experience in building partnerships and developing new programs/initiatives
- Experience in formulating and providing advice to Senior Executives and Donors on scientific issues
- Excellent writing abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English. Arabic will be an asset
- Ability to build and nurture effective work relationships and to build trust
