CSR and Events Coordinator

The Varkey GEMS Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, established to improve the standards of education for underprivileged children. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of GEMS Education which has a global network of award-winning schools providing high quality holistic education. 

We seek to raise the standards of education for the world’s poorest children to make sure that every child has a chance to prosper. We are proud to say that over the past 51 years, GEMS students, teaching staff and corporate staff have raised over $US 50 million for charities around the world. 

Through Our Partnerships with UNESCO, Clinton Global Initiative, Tony Blair Face To Faith Foundation, Dubai Cares and Pratham, and under the honorary Chairmanship of Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, the Varkey GEMS Foundation provides education scholarships, builds schools, provides teachers with leadership development and offers strategic input and consultancy to our NGO partners, placing a special emphasis on campaigning on issues to increase the capacity of education systems in the developing world. 

The Post: CSR and Events Coordinator 
To continue to develop the already outstanding contributions that the foundation has made to the social and economic development of a number of regions, we now seek to appoint an experienced Corporate Social Responsibility and Events Coordinator to lead on the following: 
• Working in conjunction with our Partners to organise major fundraising and awareness events and campaigns. 
• Building relationships with corporate and private sponsors and contributors. 
• Developing awareness of the foundation both locally and internationally. 
• Identifying opportunities to partner with other charitable organisations in the fields of education and social development.

Skills

Required Skills & Experience: 
• To be considered for this position you will already have extensive experience in Corporate Social Responsibility. You will have initiated and lead a number of successful major awareness campaigns and events. 
• You will have a strong network of contacts from large commercial and private entities with whom you are able to forge effective relationships for sponsorship and donations. 
• You have a passion for the development of education and social issues within the developing world. 
• You will have the ability to manage a complex, demanding workload of sensitive and confidential information and detailed projects which are delivered on time and on budget.
