This role will be key in advancing Hilton Worldwide as the preeminent hospitality company by supporting the strategy, development and activation of the company’s global Corporate Responsibility priorities at the regional level.

What will I be doing?
• Provide regional expertise and support to assist with the development and implementation of the company’s global giving strategy with a focus on Brand Cause programs, property level activation and team member engagement.
• Support the implementation and roll-out of the company’s Purpose Portal –a global online portal that will provide the tools, resources, incentives and rewards to help our global team member population engage in their local communities. The portal will facilitate the sharing of best practices, identifying specific programs that match team member passions and ideating to better meet our guests’ expectations.
• Work with Brand Cause leads to identify regional variation, assist with identifying regional programs and partner to support Brand and Hilton Worldwide CR initiatives, manage local grant request management systems, provide training and support to property-level staff for regional implementation of Brand Cause programs and global team member volunteerism, and identify and foster local, innovative projects.
• Represent the company internally and externally including communicating and engaging key stakeholders around the company’s CR strategy in a clear and compelling manner.
• Support broader Corporate Responsibility program development, reporting and communication as needed.
• Liaise with Corporate Communications/PR to ensure the promotion and outreach of CR initiatives
Planning Activities 25%
• Supports the Vice Presidents of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability in the development, evolution and implementation of the company’s global giving strategy with a focus on Brand Cause programs, property level activation and community team member volunteerism in key regions.
• Provides critical regional perspectives to global corporate responsibility and Brand Cause initiatives.
• Identifies new opportunities consistent with the company’s global giving strategy and Brand Cause programs for implementation in key regions.
• Identifies local partners for the global database of preferred/vetted philanthropic partners for giving and team member volunteerism.
• Develops and supports regional executive board placement strategy.
• Identifies and implements pilots in response to opportunities for regional CR leadership and support regional implementation of enterprise-wide innovation platforms.
Organizing Activities 30%
• Ensures that Hilton Worldwide is considered a leader in corporate responsibility and innovative philanthropy, cause and social innovation.
• Works with department leadership across sustainability, corporate responsibility, government affairs, diversity and inclusion, global talent management and Brand and regional leadership teams to ensure synergies and collaboration.
• Develops and implements training support for regional and property-level philanthropy and Brand Cause implementation.
• Identifies examples of property level innovation and programming to elevate into regional or global best practice.
• Develops best practice toolkits based on local innovation.
• Identifies regional (and/or priority country) business, community or legislative trends and opportunities that could shape or influence giving/community relations programs.
• Leads regional responses to disasters/crisis including overseeing implementation of Hilton Worldwide protocol, policies and tools for responding to disasters/crisis with support to Team Members and local communities.
• Provides regional support and training on the collection of impact data and compelling Brand stories using various Brand and corporate communications tools.
• Protects and enhances company’s license to operate in key communities.
Directing Activities 30%
• Builds relationships at the Brand and property levels to support activation of global Brand Cause programs.
• Works with hotels and regional teams to inform, engage and empower local ownership of philanthropic requests via the company’s Purpose Portal.
• Manages process for evaluating, tracking and responding to internal and external requests for donations and contributions in line with the Hilton Worldwide global giving guidelines.
• Works with hotels to ensure local hotel partners are integrated into the Purpose Portal. Work with regional teams to adapt global giving guidelines and engagement tools to regional contexts.
• Assists in managing day-to-day coordination, execution and communication of Hilton Worldwide’s global giving program through the Global Giving Center of Excellence in the region, to ensure relevance, accountability and alignment with business, Brand and overall Corporate Responsibility goals and objectives.
• Researches, creates, implements, monitors and assists with problem resolution for community outreach projects, as needed.
• Manages all aspects of the company’s global employee volunteerism program at the regional corporate headquarters and provides support to other regional locations and the field. Supports regional implementation of the Global Week of Service.
• Manages partnerships for regional CR initiatives.
• Identifies regional communications and convening opportunities to position Hilton Worldwide as a regional CR leader.
• Participates in and supports participation of Hilton Worldwide executives in regional thought leadership opportunities relevant to the CR strategy.
• Develops and maintains relationships with NGO (non-governmental organization) partners and other stakeholders. Works with partners to develop relevant programs and initiatives that support the company’ business and giving objectives regionally. Continuously educates them on key company initiatives, strategies and priorities.
• Represents Hilton Worldwide at public events, seminars, forums, etc.
• Assists in responding to CR-related surveys, questionnaires, indices and awards.
Staffing Activities 5%
• Shares in resources of the Global Giving Center of Excellence.
Controlling Activities 10%
• Establishes and enforces policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the department and company.
• Works within an established budget.
• Assists with the collection process of key performance metrics and reporting companywide (global giving, community engagement, team member engagement).
• Gathers and analyzes data for internal and external reporting and communication efforts.
• Assists with implementing systems to set and track internal community engagement and broader corporate responsibility benchmarks.
• Travel as necessary to support property level engagement and to build critical relationships with community stakeholders.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
• Collaborate with other members of Global Corporate Communications and Brand PR teams to ensure effective and integrated communication and outreach programs around Hilton Worldwide’s global giving initiatives.
• Support executives asked to represent the company’s broader corporate responsibility agenda; brief them with key messages and supporting materials as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree in Public Affairs, International Affairs, International Development or experience in lieu thereof.
• Significant experience in the public/private sector on issues and activities related to corporate responsibility, philanthropy, community relations, corporate partnerships and/or public policy.
• Must be knowledgeable of current best practices community affairs/corporate responsibility/public affairs programs active in region.
• Must be sensitive to the needs of diverse populations.
• Ability to travel as required (30 percent of time).
• Ability to be available/accessible during non-traditional hour’s when/if needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Advanced degree (MBA or International Relations) preferred with a focus on corporate responsibility, sustainability, public policy and/or social entrepreneurship.
• Experience working within a large business/organization.
• Experience in the hospitality industry.
• Experience managing grant and philanthropic programs for a corporation, private foundation or NGO.
• Proficiency in at least one foreign language spoken in key region/countries.
• Sound understanding of NGO space and/or experience working with global multi¬-lateral development organizations.
• Experience in internal communication and employee engagement programs.
