Job Summary:
Building Performance and Sustainability Specialist has oversight for the operational excellence of Campus building Systems, develops/manages the retro-commissioning program and manages the LEED O&M certification process for KAUST. Directs the operational performance of the KAUST service providers and consultants. 

Major Responsibilities:
Directs the optimization of all electrical/mechanical equipment systems in the Research Labs and administrative facilities within the Campus, which includes: 

o Building systems and energy controls 

o Retro Commissioning of all buildings 

o Fire Life Safety Systems 

o HVAC Optimization 

o Energy and Utilities Conservation 

o Development of Electrical/Mechanical Operations Standards 

· Plan annual expenditure and provide direction in the cost effective establishment of resources and administrative strategies 

· Develop policies, procedures, and programs related to the building and research lab operations 

· Identify special requirements for the labs building systems and develop lab operation procedures with the help of the Research Department 

· Develop and implement temperature control system analysis and modifications to improve building comfort within the defined energy conservation targets. 

· Promote the participation of faculty, students, administrators and staff in analyzing, monitoring and assisting in the development and implementation of Energy Conservation Measures. 

· Develop a phased five year Energy and Utilities Conservation Program.

Technical Skills

Knowledge of all facets of temperature control systems, including electric, pneumatic and DDC Systems. 

Familiarity with facilities and the site building management system. 

Ability to read and interpret work from drawings, sketches, blueprints, and technical manuals. 

Knowledge and affinity of Quality Improvement concepts and tools 

Well aware of safety standards in routine facilities operation 

Ability to interpret operation needs and requirements 

Non-Technical Skills or Attributes

Good communication and interpersonal skills. 

Strong service agreement negotiation and administration skills. 

Ability to supervise employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling of work’s assignments 

Consultant and service provider performance management skills 

Required Education Bachelor of Science in Electrical / Electronic, Industrial or mechanical Engineering 

Required Experience

Minimum of 8 years of experience in multiple site building systems installation and operations 

Building system commissioning experience is highly preferred. 

Have good working knowledge in building systems hardware and software

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical / Electronic, Industrial or mechanical Engineering
