Professional Background
I am an international development specialist with substantial experience providing leadership to diverse team, oversee and manage country program including strategy development, advocacy and networking, develop and evaluate the operational plan and budget, leading the expansion of country program, innovating different approaches, research, analysis, donor coordination and reporting, business and partnership development. In my current assignment at Water For People, I am providing leadership to smooth functioning of county program including management of program fund, oversight the overall management of country program including resource mobilization department, M&E department, Advocacy and Networking department and finance of India country program with an aim to establish innovative service delivery system by involving both government and private sector players. In the development sector, I have provided leadership in policy formulation and strategy design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, donor coordination and reporting, lobby and advocacy, capacity building and leadership to diverse team of specialists in effective functioning of country’s operation. I have demonstrated sustainable development models in different parts of India and South Asia, and provided advisory support to various country governments in South Asia and government of India for revision and formulation of their WASH policy. I have also contributed in designing the global WASH strategy of Water For People. I have provides advisory / volunteer support to many national and international organizations to improve their programing such as Global Sanitation Fund, Aga Khan Rural Support Program, Population Services International etc. My particular areas of expertise are overseeing the overall management of country program, leadership to diverse professional, strategic planning and direction, setting up long-term development goals, administration of international NGOs, leadership to expansion of country program, water and sanitation sector reform, water supply sustainability, sanitation as a business, market based sustainable service providers, donor coordination, fund raising and partnership building, relation with government and other sector players, business development, leading monitoring and evaluation of approaches.
CSR Interest & Background
As an international development expert specialized in project and program management on integrated development issues, with almost 12 years of experience providing I am providing leadership in the design, execution and evaluation of development initiativesMy association with nonprofit sector includes providing leadership in policy formulation, strategy design, leading the implementation and overall management of program in different national and International NGOs, engagement of employee from corporate and international volunteers, designing monitoring protocol and indicators, networking with sector players including government. Through my involvement in NGOs sector for last 12 years, I have gained the necessary expertise to lead CSR programs to success. Through my extensive field work in various states in India, I have learned to inspire and lead a team of development professionals in the design, implement, monitoring and management of grassroots projects that are sustainable and equitable. Under my leadership, the projects such as mobile phone based online monitoring mechanism, the project management tool namely At What Cost, youths led sustainable drinking water project, mobile mechanics and sanitation with involvement of women groups and private players are the success stories have been captured in international and national documents. I have also provided robust support in the development of global WASH strategy of Water For People. In my current position, I regularly provide leadership both in and outside of my organization, including my co-workers in the preparation and execution of programs and reports, as well as NGOs and CSR namely Population Services International, Aga Khan Rural Support Program, ITC, Tata Steel Rural Development Society, and Global Sanitation Fund on various development issues. I have developed a successful model of employment engagement for monitoring the project through using mobile phone and this is being replicated by many CSRs and foundation globally.
