Professional Background
Having graduated with a first-class degree in Environmental Health Management, I am currently undertaking an MSc in Sustainability and Management at the University of Bath, School of Management in the United Kingdom. I am passionate about pursuing a career in CSR and sustainability and believe I have the skill-set, drive and ability to succeed in this role. Working as a CSR Executive at a ACSRN, I was responsible for several tasks. Over a period of 3 years, I managed to grow and become the focal point for different activities of the network. I oversaw various training programs, including GRI where I demonstrated marketing and communications skills as well as my knowledge in the field to help develop ad prepare the training material. I was also in charge of approaching companies for advisory services where I gained experience in dealing with clients, analysing their needs, collaborating and developing and implementing proposals for trainings, gap analysis exercises, stakeholder mapping and engagement and sustainability report advisory. I was also in charge for the Arabia CSR Forum and Awards. All activities regarding dealing with applicants, speakers, judges, accessors and logistical aspects of both events were convened by me throughout the year. Lastly, I was responsible for handling the social media accounts of the network. My role was challenging, as the diversity and load of tasks required time management, strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving and leading small teams that helped me in managing different projects. I am proactive and results-driven: whilst working at the network, I increased the number of trainings and events conducted in the MENA region and increased the number of members of and sponsors of the company. Apart from my work experience, I have worked on several projects during my master’s studies. I have done research on business strategy and managing partnerships. As fashion retail and sustainable supply chain is an area that I have strong interest in, I have written several papers on sustainable supply chain, Ethical sourcing and areas of improvement in the field. I am also undertaking a course on CSR principles and strategies for sustainability that I believe would enrich my knowledge. My work experience in the UAE along with my education in UK has given me a vast knowledge of sustainability and recent trends. I am convinced my skills, experience, values and knowledge of CSR in both MENA and UK will enable me to work successfully.
