    CSR Interest & Background

    Recently completed a work placement in Sri Lanka with a local business focused on producing environmental impact assessments (EIAs), writing funding grant proposals, and improving access to safe drinking water and sanitation to rural families in the North Western Province. The outcome of this three month placement was the research dissertation entitled: ‘Implementing the Mandate of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Right to Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation: A Case Study of Sri Lanka’. Key interests and research areas include: water access, water management, transboundary water governance, sanitation, human rights, CSR and sustainable international development. International experience dealing with sustainable development, safe drinking water and sanitation issues in rural communities include: Uganda (Manafwa District) and Sri Lanka (Puttalam District).
