Welspun Middle East started its operation in 2010 when Welspun Corp Ltd. acquired 50.01% interest in Aziz European Pipe Factory. The facility is situated at Dammam Industrial City in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, about 40 kms from AL Khobar towards Haffof. This is one of the largest spiral pipe manufacturing facilities in the area. The state-of-the-art mill was set up in 2006 and can produce upto 350,000 MTPA of spiral pipes. It also has a coating plant of 1mn sq. mt per annum capacity. Welspun Middle East has modern and sophisticated manufacturing equipments with latest art lab testing facilities. The pipe division is capable of manufacture pipes up to X80 Grade as per API/EN/ASTM/ISO and other specifications. It has the capacity to produce the pipe length up to 18.00 meters. Welspun Corp Ltd. (WCL), the flagship company of Welspun Group, which Welspun Middle East is a part of, is today probably the Largest Large Diameter Line Pipe Company in the World. It is ranked as the 2nd Largest (Large Diameter) Pipe Producer by Financial Times UK and awarded 'The ‘Emerging Company of the Year' by Economic Times, 2008, respectively. With a strong culture of ‘Engineering Excellence' WCL takes pride in manufacturing and supplying some of the most critical pipelines in the World from its India and U.S. plants. With an installed line pipe capacity of nearly 2.0 MTPA. To its credit, the company has supplied pipes for World’s deepest pipeline project (Independence Trail', Gulf of Mexico), Highest Pipeline project (Peru LNG), to the longest pipeline (Canada to US) and the heaviest Pipeline (Persian Gulf). WCL’s has an esteemed client list which includes Transcanada, Enterprise, Kinder Morgan, Texas Gas, Hunt Oil, Saudi Aramco, Elpaso, Exxon Mobil and Qatar Petro DOW to name a few.

Veteran Marathi Social activitist Sindhutai Sapkal honoured with the Wockhardt Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award 2010 Earth Care Awards – Times of India and Jindal Steel Ltd. - 2008 WELSPUN received the 1st runner up award for reduction in emission and mitigation of Greenhouse gasses for a cleaner and more environment friendly project in 2004. It went in for a fuel changeover, switching from heavy fuel oil to natural gas in its electricity and steam generation projects. Under this, a 5.9 MW gas turbine with waste heat recovery system was installed. It increased the system efficiency to about 70% from the usual 42% and lowered fuel consumption, leading to a reduction in GHG emissions and conservation of energy Social Corporate Governance Award -2008 Welspun amongst the top 38 Corporate Houses . The award which has been instituted by Bombay Stock Exchange Limited, Nasscom Foundation and Times Foundation recognises and honours organisations for their contribution to society Sustainability Award –Wal Mart Stores Inc. -2007 Welspun won the Sustainability award, instituted by Wal-Mart for taking environmental protection to new levels, adhering to Wal-Mart's Standards for Suppliers, as well as for the quality of goods manufactured and the company’s commitment to on-time delivery.
