Professional Background
Swamy has over 19 years of experience in the areas of building, developing and managing high performing teams to achieve the targeted business growth. He has definitive and proven strengths over years to lead the identified business vertical through strengths in business development, building client relationships, account centric focusing and driving a sense of ownership in the team. His areas of focus have so far been on Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change with specific interests on Environment Management & Due Diligence, Zero Water & Waste Discharge, Smart Energy Management & Low Carbon Transformation and Environmental Law. He assists several leading corporate & business houses both in India and outside in identifying risks & opportunities associated with the above areas. He has appeared before numerous governmental bodies, public forums and business organizations to discuss the evolving issues surrounding environmental and sustainable management programs. His special interest is on infusing spirituality into sustainability for triggering inner climate change. He is a civil engineer with Masters in Environmental Engineering from Illinois, USA and a Professional Engineer from the Iowa State, USA. He has also a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law (PGDEL) from National Law School of India University. As a market leader, he is a regular speaker in various platforms and forums in the country on “Sustainability and Low Carbon Transformation (LCT)” including that of CII, MCCI, MMA, ASSOCHAM, AMCHAM, IACC and UKTI (UK Trade). He has conducted lectures on Sustainability and Climate Change for students and faculties at IIT, Anna University, Sathyabama University and has conducted special address on International Sustainability Conference at Amrita University. He had earlier assisted US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) projects in conducting Environmental Due Diligence for over 70 sites in Iowa as a part of Superfund initiative. He has worked extensively in the field of climate change from 2002 onwards and has helped conceive & develop over 250 Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Projects in various industry sectors across geographies to obtain carbon credits from the market mechanism after registration with UNFCCC.
CSR Interest & Background
Has been spearheading and driving several Environmental & Sustainability / CSR initiatives across Energy intensive and Water / waste intensive industries like Cement, Mining, Sugar, Paper etc. Drving the CSR agenda / Company's bill for corporates.
