CSR Interest & Background
Review of my credentials will confirm that I have served as a catalyst in the areas of program designing, implementation & management, program designing, monitoring & evaluation, stakeholder management, public health consultancy with various Organizations of repute like Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Apollo Hospital's LWRX, Narendra Mohan Hospital. I am working as a Sr. Coordinator (program & M & E) for CCEBDM program in a Health promotion & training division of Centre for Chronic Conditions & Injuries (Diabetes Mellitus) at Public Health Foundation of India. In my current role, I am responsible for designing, implementing, executing and monitoring a Pan-India program for capacity building in Diabetes management. The challenges faced are many as it is a multi-stakeholder model. Self-motivation and innovation has kept me going and in the last 3 years of my association with the program, I helped it’s representation in international forums. I also played a key role in the affiliation of the program with International Diabetes Federation. An excogitative approach by me helped our program finish as a finalist in the category of “Excellence in medical education” in the prestigious BMJ awards. In addition, I am also independently managing a training program for medical officers of Kolkata Municipal Corporation. I am also a Co-Investigator and observer in other capacity building initiatives like Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, Cardio-Diabetology, Management of Thyroid Disorders, Diabetic Retinopathy. Passion and hunger to benefit the larger population for their betterment attracted me to the field of public health. I was ranked fifth in the entrance of a reputed public health institute and enrolled for public health management in 2008. In 2010, I was campus recruited by National Health System Resource Center and deputed to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare as a consultant in Program Implementation/Planning of National Rural Health Mission. I was allotted the backward districts of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The job required strategic planning for strengthening the health systems of those districts through the District Health Action Plans, while implementing and critically monitoring the National program in coordination with district, state, national and international stakeholders. Implementing and managing the National program in those circumstances and limitation of resources was a huge task. Additionally, coordinating with parallel teams of WHO, UNICEF, USAID, DIFID, JAICA etc. was another challenge. I am a certified CSR professional from Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs under Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Recently I have been awarded a year-long fellowship for Public Health Leader (PH-Leader) program run by Public Health Leadership and Implementation Academy of NCDs (run by Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University), a highly competitive program sponsored by US National Institutes of Health. I have been nominated and completed the ‘Early research career training’ program by ‘London school of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine’ funded by ‘Welcome trust, UK’. I also possess an additional degrees in Sports Rehabilitation & Medicine, Healthcare supply management, Health insurance and post-graduate diploma in Promotive and Preventive Healthcare. My goal is transition of my enthusiasm, productivity & experience into a position, where I continue to provide the quality output critical to organizational growth. I am certain that my presence in a Team will prove to be beneficial to the organization. As such, I would welcome an opportunity to evaluate the organization needs & share my ideas.
