Professional Background
I am Shipra Saxena, a professional working in Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) till March 2011. I have recently relocated to Dubai to join my husband. I was working with Confederation of Indian Industry(Leading Chamber of Commerce in India) as Executive Officer. I was designated as the National Executive Member for Young Indians (Yi) Program and managed Delhi Chapter and Social Initiatives at the national level. The experience of almost 5 years at CII has given me first hand experience of liaising and networking with senior Industry members, NGOs, Govt., Industry and young entrepreneurs and professionals. I was responsible for developing programmes, budgeting, coordinating activities and events, fund raising, monitoring and evaluating these programmes. Prior to CII, I worked with CAPART (Ministry of Rural Development, India) for a year. While working with CAPART, I developed a close understanding of how Government structures function. Being posted at two different organisations, Development Alternatives and Centre for Rural Development, I received a practical experience of writing and evaluating projects. Fundraising was also an integral part where I worked towards raising funds from International donors. At Development Alternatives, I was involved in liaising for an international project. I completed my post graduation in Social Work from Delhi School of Social Work, University of Delhi in 2005 and completed graduation in Sociology (Honours) from Jesus & Mary College, University of Delhi in 2003. In close to 6 years, I have gained an extensive experience in working with corporates on sustainable development and harnessing individual & corporate social responsibility amongst senior management and entrepreneurs.My skills include - strategic planning, building partnerships, programme development, programme management, budgeting, fundraising, events and communication work. I have a passion to work in the areas of social and sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
