Pratap has been closely involved in every aspect of climate initiatives specifically the climate strategy development and implementation, and commercial low-carbon investments. He has focused extensively on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) / Kyoto Protocol, for the last 10 years. His areas of specialization include climate policy and regulations (domestic and international), climate finance, baseline identification and additionality. He has a track record of success with more than 15 projects achieving CDM registration - both in electricity (fossil fuel & renewable energy technologies) and infrastructure sectors. He has achieved CDM registration for more than 12,000 MW of power generation capacity (perhaps world's largest in origination capacity) and has 100% registration success rate. His CDM project portfolio includes world's largest concentrated solar power project, three super-critical technology based Ultra-Mega Power Projects and etc. He has also prepared sustainable development action plans and several Carbon foot-printing studies (including global benchmarking) and GHG Emission Intensity Monitoring & Reporting Protocols. Also, he has contributed to the CDM / GHG mitigation projects belonging to the group companies including Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance communication. He has started working on establishing the framework and monitoring "Compliance Monitoring Program", for all Power plants operated and managed by Reliance Power, since February 2013.
