Professional Background
I am a graduate student from the Columbia University in the City of New York School of Social Work with a Master’s degree in social policy practice, and contemporary social issue as a field of practice. I have an extensive nine years of experience in program/project management, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy, and social policy analysis. My work experience has spanned such issues as youth empowerment and workforce development, poverty alleviation, and the engagement and empowerment of women and people with disabilities at different organizations including: UNDP Jordan Country Office, the National Urban League in NYC, and Day One in NYC. My six-years of experience at UNDP includes effective management, designing and monitoring the technical, financial and operational implementation of 15 projects in the Poverty Portfolio and the Programme Unit. Furthermore, I worked closely with different UN agencies, non-profit organizations, and government institutions on formulating various reports such as the five-year UN Development Assistance Framework, the Poverty Reduction Strategy, and National Human Development Report. During my clinical field placement at Day One, I worked with a culturally diverse adolescent population providing individual and group therapy and developing and implementing individual treatment plans. At my second year policy analysis and research field placement at the National Urban league (NUL), I conducted different type of research and analysis concerning youth development in areas such as education, career development, and case management. Currently, NUL hired me as a Research and Evaluation Consultant to create career pathways in the industries with the greatest job growth to help NUL affiliates build their participants career pathways.
CSR Interest & Background
While i was working at UNDP Jordan CO i used to work on the Corporate Social Responsibility & The UN Global Compact program in Jordan. the program aimed at increasing the role of the private sector and civil society organizations in collectively addressing issues related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It enabled the private sector in Jordan to benefit from an international framework such as the UN Global Compact (GC) which would ensure responsible business practices through the integration of the ten GC principles into companies’ strategies and operations and to promote greater involvement of private sector in development.
