Professional Background
With nine years work experience in programme management from humanitarian, international Non-Government Organizations funded by international government and private agencies. Currently works in an international development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the Philippines and handle projects funded by Standard Chartered Bank in the United Kingdom, New Zealand Aid and private donors in Germany. Worked with Plan International as a Technical Officer for Health and conceptualize and design health programs based on communities’ current health issues. Also worked as a Community Development Facilitator where I designed and facilitated implementation of development interventions through appropriate participatory techniques to improve organizational functions as a prerequisite to undertake Community Managed Projects. Also started working in research and programme development with a private hospital and with the National Institutes of Health.
CSR Interest & Background
I always had the passion in working for and with humanitarian organizations that is aimed at improving the welfare of societies. This is proven by my professional background by having significant work experience in developing and managing sustainable and socially responsible programmes for the organizations’ target clients (e.g. children for Plan International, Tuberculosis patients for the Global Fund project of the Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis, and Persons with Disabilities for CBM). I would like to bring this expertise I gained from my work experience with international Non-Government Organizations into the corporate setting which I believe I could contribute in promoting the accountability to stakeholders that would involve employees, consumers and/or affected communities. I am a believer and an advocate of the rights-based approach to development and at the same time I am well aware of the importance of promoting and nurturing the profile of an organization (corporation) as this will have an impact on the consumers’ loyalty and shareholders’ interest on investments.
