    CSR Interest & Background

    My name is Nekya Jenise Young and I am highly interested in the Social Responsibility and Corporate Relations positions. I have successfully completed the Doctorate courses in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Prior and during my Doctorate program I strengthened my external affairs, demographic mapping and social responsibility programming research, and community outreach skillsets. In that position, I was responsible for creating and managing social responsibility research campaign for over 1 million Houston area youth. Some of the youth programs I created were: • Community gardening • Demographic and environmental mapping • Community asset inventories and stakeholder outreach • Media strategies and civic outreach • Cultural competency and relaying health concerns As Manager I analyzed a U.S. government Center for Disease Control {CDC} program outcomes and deliverables; socioeconomic data capturing and analysis; budget development and review; grant writing; external affairs; stakeholder engagement; and civic outreach.
