Professional Background
I’m Naseeha V, a Masters in Social Work candidate from the most prestigious social science institute in Asia- Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. I also completed Bachelor’s in Social work from Little Flower Institute of Social Sciences and Health, with first rank in university of Calicut in 2012. In the five years of education, I have worked with different private as well as government bodies. In the process, I got an opportunity to work closely in a study conducted in the flood affected district of Uttarakhand in the year 2013 by Tata Relief Committee and Himmotthan society. It was to understand the present livelihood strategies and presented livelihood needs of the population. During another experience, I again found a chance to develop a business plan for income generation programmes(IGP) of the SHGs of Centre for overall Development, Thamarassery,. I contributed to the designing of feasibility survey for an IGP planned by the NGO. While working with Kottayam Social Service Society,Kerala, I also developed operational strategies for expanding markets for their entrepreneurs. I also participated in Monitoring and evaluation of Kudumbashree’s (a well known SHG model in kerala) hundred days programme for Paniyar tribes in four district of Kerala and this timely reporting helped the mission to improve the quality of the programme. Praxis is the methodology used in the Tata Institute of Social Sciences that every social work student learns both theory and practice through a method of sandwich, that is, every student gets an opportunity to practice the concepts taught in the class room. Along with strong understanding of concepts and theories one also works in the field with the community, government bodies, public and private partners and other stake holders with confluence as a field strategy. Timely documentation and reporting of field learning with analysis of field realities, suggestions with rectification and correctives added in the reports were few professional skills imbibed along with Professionalism and practice of meeting deadlines. Business development plan and impact Assessment techniques taught in the curriculum were handy while working in the field. Apart from that I have experience in family counseling at Manashanthi Training Institute, Anjilithanam. My responsibility was to provide individual, marital, and family counselling services to different age groups to assist the clients to identify personal and interpersonal problems in order to achieve effective personal, marital, and family adjustment. Currently I am working with Centre for research and Education for Transformation as a project associate. My works majorly include strategic planning, organising, and executing extra 60 days skill development workshop for students in Model Residential Schools in Kerala. My professional competencies include adaptability, optimism, innovative by nature, and optimum utilization of resources. It enabled me to pursue challenging occupation which provides ample opportunity to learn, whilst honing my technical, organizational & social skills and applying them for the benefits of the stakeholders. In addition I have an outstanding supremacy and leadership in all my works and thoughts. I have always suggested enduring solution to all problems as it is the only way to solve it. Apart from that, I am flexible and happy to explore new avenues of knowledge and skills which would entitle me to adapt with working environment. CSR Interest & Background
I got an opportunity to work closely in a CSR initiative conducted in the flood affected district of Uttarakhand in the year 2013 by Tata Relief Committee and Himmotthan society. It was to understand the present livelihood strategies of the population and design new livelihood plan for affected population.
