Professional Background
Mohammad Al Amoush is the Manager of Institute for Sustainable Development Practices (ISDP) which was established in December 2010 at CUMERC and aims to address crucial sustainable development issues such as employment, poverty, socioeconomic challenges, education, and environment. Towards these objectives, ISDP partners with different stakeholders on capacity building, strategic research, sustainability management, and policy support programs. Over the past thirteen years he has acquired valuable experience in the area of project management, local development,sustainability management, governance, and poverty alleviation. He has managed several projects with key donors (e.g. World Bank, UNDP, USAID, EU, AFD, and UNHABITAT) during his work at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Jordan, Columbia University Middle East Research Center and other governmental and non governmental organizations.He also worked at local level administrations (municipalities and governorates) where his main responsibilities included managing different assignments related to the preparation of local economic development strategies and urban plans through participatory approaches, taking into consideration the social, economic and environmental dimensions. Mr. Al Amoush holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology and a Master's degree in Science of Sustainability Management from Columbia University in New York.
