Jennifer Schwab, CSO, Sierra Club Green Home Sierra Club Green Home (SCGH.com) is a social entrepreneurship initiative with the Sierra Club. SCGH.com is a website dedicated to educating the general public on going green in the home including home health, energy efficiency, and renewable energy strategies. As Chief Sustainability Officer, Jennifer is responsible for all environmental education and initiatives at Sierra Club Green Home.com. She developed the Sierra Club Green Home “GreenCheck” validation program for green suppliers, as well as the “Green Leader” course which educates Fortune 500 employees about the principles of sustainability and energy efficiency and how to message the benefits to consumers. Jennifer studied environmental design and sustainability at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena then she completed her Master’s in Urban Planning and Design at the University of California — Irvine. Jennifer is a United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Accredited Practitioner specializing in Commercial Interiors. She is a sustainability consultant to essess (www.essess.com), a technology company originated at MIT which uses high-throughput infrared imaging, geo-spatial data integration and highly scalable predictive analytics to identify energy leaks in commercial and residential structures. She is a widely quoted media analyst appearing in dozens of articles both in print and online. She has been interviewed by The New York Times, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Dwell, CNBC, Good Housekeeping, Fortune, the Los Angeles Times, Forbes, the Examiner, Consumer Digest, CNN Money, among many others. She has appeared on NBC-U, CBS, WSJ Lunch Break, Fox News and numerous times on ABC’s Good Morning America with Sam Champion. Jennifer is a frequent speaker at a wide variety of environmental conferences and forums. She served as co-host at Opportunity Green, among several other major podiums in 2011 alone. Away from work, Jennifer can be found in the Bikram yoga studio, on exotic dive trips, or piloting the friendly skies. She follows art and design avidly and serves on the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Photo Acquisition Committee.
