Professional Background
Hiba Salah is a CSR and Sustainability Professional with over 5 years of practical experience in the field. She graduated with Distinction from the Ahfad University for Women with Honors and was Class Valedictorian and holds a Masters of Business Administration in Project Management from the University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Sudan. In the period before graduation she underwent internships with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank) the United Nation’s High Commission for Refugees in 2005 and was part of the Development Marketplace team in Zambia 2005. She was Awarded Best Graduation Research Project Award in the Field of Accounting and Finance as well as the Most Distinguished Student Award in the School of Management Studies for the Graduating Class of 2006. She started her career with Schlumberger, one of the largest Oilfield Services multi-nationals in the world as a payable Accountant and was promoted to Supervisor of the Accounts Payable Department. She held a consultancy contract with as a Project Management Information Analyst with the International Organisation for Migration and served as a member of the Un Global Compact Local Network Secretariat in Sudan. She then has a major career shift after discovering a personal passion and commitment to CSR and went on to become a CSR projects Leader with DAL Group, the largest and most diversified conglomerate in Sudan with operations spanning 7 sectors and 13 Businesses. During that period she initiated the concept of responsible environmental management and designed an Environmental waste management and awareness program under the universal name of Reduce.Reuse.Recycle. During that period, Hiba has represented DAL Group in a large number of local, regional and global CSR and Sustainability Conferences. She has also attended a significant number of specialized trainings in CSR and Sustainability, Project and Program Management, Communication, leadership, Strategic Management and Training Facilitation. Hiba joined the Arabia CSR Network in March 2013 and is responsible for managing the Arabia CSR Awards and Forum, Sponsorships, as well as development and conducting of a range of Certified CSR and Sustainability Trainings, among other roles. Hiba has undergone extensive training and exposure to the GRI Sustainability Reporting guidelines and is currently a CSR Project Development Specialist and a CSR trainer with the Arabia CSR Network for CSR, Sustainability and Sustainability Reporting trainings.
