Professional Background
Currently I work in a Communications/Branding SME. I launched & continually coordinate, layout, manage and write content of a monthly newsletter in the logistics, FMCG, warehousing $ cargo & petrochemicals sectors. I also manage & represent companies from A-Z for exhibitions such as Breakbulk Europe & Saudi Downstream. My responsibilities include coordinating with vendors for stand buildings, international exhibitors and printing agencies for the smooth operations of companies that we represent. I am also responsible of creative content development of branding, corporate image & Social Media (SM). Monthly, I coordinate magazine space booking and advertisement in international newspapers and magazines, including writing and issuing press releases (English & Arabic). Previously, I was training to develop soft and life skills programs for employees in workforces of all levels and schoolchildren ranging from middle school to university levels. As the program manager and coordinator, my responsibilities include updating means of skills acquisition, resourcing, networking and client relationships. It also includes developing networking for ecologically friendly solutions, such as developing platforms for stakeholders' contribution towards environmental needs and proposal writing for partnerships to develop ecologically friendly policies and environments. My pride project, that is a plan yet to be implemented in 2016, is a green capital- Manama that will be implemented by the government. This project aims to create volunteer opportunities, empower the Bahraini youths with leadership skills, rehabilitate Bahraini youths into aspiring leaders and caring citizens, inflict a green Manama, impose environmental protection and growth policies and inspire a cleaner and healthier future for Bahrain. Previously, My company was operating a new concept of a ‘one-stop shop’ for the all the business needs of a fortune 500 company including PR, marketing and advertising as well as providing high end serviced office space for had hoc use by clients in 140 countries. As the in-house personal assistant I was on hand to meet and greet clients using our services and attend meetings on their behalf, arrange travel and served as a network coordinator between all the clients. This aspect of my role was vital to helping businesses connect efficiently with other clients across industries. Using the ‘Cisco Unified Communication System’ which represents the gold standard in office technology, I was in charge of setting up new external offices for clients and configuring the set-up of phone and internet resources to meet the specific demands of clients. I was also in charge of the initiation, organization and application of a wide range of crucial business areas including advertising, social media marketing and industry networking on behalf of clients. This role gave me insight and direct exposure to the needs and operations of businesses across many different industries. This element of my work has given me a great deal of transferable insight and essential skills of flexibility and presentation. Personally, I am as bilingual, English and Arabic speaker, and I have a fair command in Swahili. I have lived in Lebanon for over ten years and in various countries in the MENA region and have extensive knowledge of the political, economic and cultural situation of the region. My ability to being an effective team player, conduct research and background in sustainable development along with my global experiences may perhaps contribute in furthering the assessment and needs of Aramco’s sustainable development vision. Lastly, not having a home has had the upside of living in different countries, which permitted me to meet people from all walks of life and work in incredibly dynamic environments.
CSR Interest & Background
My curiosity and keen interest within the CSR & humanitarian fields has sharpened my research and writing skills, both qualitatively and quantitatively, and has expanded my knowledge and exposure on civil societies, international political affairs, humanitarian aid and sustainable development. These factors along with spending most of my lifetime in Lebanon have augmented my exposure and understanding of the humanitarian and ever-changing socio-economic environment that exists in the Arab world and the aspects that contribute to it. Throughout my educational years I have been involved in organizational, advocacy, activism and humanitarian experiences. Some of which include volunteering with a dynamic team at Discovery Program- Swansea University with refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. I have also completed training courses in working with children with Learning Disability, Autism and ADHD and Refugee Awareness. In addition, I was part of the Swansea community for mobilizing and partaking in pro-Palestinian action, where I participated in drafting policies to ministers and companies (such as Sainsbury and Tesco), conducting awareness campaigns and mobilized, coordinating and brainstorming strategies to support the boycott, divestment and sanctions of Israel and Israeli goods. As a peace and humanitarian activist, I have always taken it upon myself to advocate and join various causes, protests, advocacy groups and campaigns throughout my life. These include online activism, civic demonstrations, Amnesty International UK, the American University of Beirut Red Cross and the Seeds of Peace organization. Dos recently I resided in Zanzibar, Tanzania, and volunteered in an international organization, World Unite, where I was teaching English and Arabic as a foreign language to children to children with despair backgrounds. However, given the lack of resources, my responsibilities included researching, generating and preparing teaching materials and course work regularly along with advocating youth empowerment programs through leadership and teamwork initiatives. I also volunteered at Drug Free Zanzibar teaching English to recovering drug addicts and mobilized for developing women empowerment leadership and entrepreneurial workshops and programs. This experience I would say exposed me first-handedly to leadership, capacity building training and management of incredibly unstable environments.
