Professional Background
Faris was involved with community work since the age of 14. Recently, he was trained under an Executive Programme at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy for Non-Profit Management. In 2011, he received a long service award for grassroots involvements. His love for the art was further nurtured when he was President (Youth) for Siglapian Alumni Assoc which Is currently East Zone Centre of Excellence for the Arts. Faris was a recipient of the LTA Book Prize and in an informal group effort secured the Presidents Award for Social Services in 2007. He was also a senior panellist and later alumnus of the Young Changemakers Panel. He represented Singapore for an Asean-Korea youth conference in 2008. His passion to serve was triggered by feeling society is very structured and the wanting to do something about it. Faris was under the Dyslexia programme while in primary school. As Chief Executive, he overseas management, governance and stakeholders.
CSR Interest & Background
In 2008, he improved Social Creatives, a non-profit financials from $90,000 to more than $850,000 in 2011. This was achieved through being a pioneer Social Enterprise for the Arts. In 2012, Faris was a speaker for the International Summit for CSR by Singapore Compact.
