Professional Background
With over ten years of working experience in international development, focusing on Egypt and North Africa, I have engaged and worked on community and policy level projects and programs in the field of gender equality and social development. My experience in advocacy, policy change, campaigning, alliance, partnership building and management polished my ability to work on cross-sector and multiple stakeholders programs. Working with grass-root NGOs and within international development organizations allowed me to work closely with community and government bodies alike. I worked extensively within complex programs on operational planning, results based monitoring, stakeholder analysis/mapping, media and communication management and a plethora of other project implementation activities. As a holder of a Master’s degree in Gender and Development studies from the University of Sussex in the UK, I developed a theoretical and a practical understanding of gender mainstreaming within development in different sectors.
