CSR Interest & Background

Throughout the last 10 years, I made several research projects in the area of sustainability and CSR. I mainly focused on exploring the CSR status in a Middle-Eastern country, namely Egypt by examining the main drivers of CSR activities and reporting. Such drivers range from macro-institutional factors like the political and business operating environment to micro-organizational factors such as corporate governance and firm characteristics. The research projects also included interviews with managers working in more than a 100 companies operating in the Egyptian context. Such interviews provided rich data on how managers perceive CSR and the future of this important field in Egypt.
