Chowdhury Adnan Zaman, Strategic Social Investment Manager with Chevron Bangladesh External Affairs is a Development & CSR professional having over 7 years of experience in managing and supporting social investment projects. He currently manages Bangladesh Partnership Initiative, a 5 year 10 MM economic development social investment program funded by Chevron Corporation. Adnan has extensive experience in working in themes including enterprise development, alternative income generation/livelihood, CBO management & capacity building, skill development and vocational training. Adnan has thorough understanding of CSR programs of corporations especially extractive industry. Adnan has played crucial role in Chevron’s partnership discussions with Asian Development Bank, USAID, SEIP (Ministry of Finance) and several implementing partners including Brac; also played a pivotal role in designing BPI and its 3 major components (Enterprise Development, Workforce Development & Enabling Environment). He has also worked closely with various cross functional teams on scoping projects, administering bidding, evaluating proposals and planning implementation at the field level. In his previous roles with Chevron he managed and monitored Chevron CSR projects in three major themes- economic development, health and education. From 2010 to 2013 Adnan served Center for Natural Resource as Project Coordinator where he managed Chevron funded social investment project and led an office comprised of 12 staffs. As ESF with USAID-IPAC he has coordinated Enterprise Development activities of IPAC central cluster. Back then he worked on agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture value chain and helped development of about 2000 agriculture, aquaculture and handicrafts based enterprises. During his tenure Adnan has coordinated IPAC’s support in Katalyst & Hatil supported ‘Product Design and Development Campaign’ for bamboo handicraft and earthenware producers.
