Professional Background
At Amway and Philip Morris I worked on environmental issues dealing with packaging and EU legislation impacting the manufacturing plants. I was also involved in environmental sponsorship and charity. In 2002 I was hired by ABN AMRO and initiated the Banks Sustainability program and process for the first Sustainability Report. Coordinated a team of 24 business managers to develop the vison & mission for the bank. I assisted the Business Units and headquater functions to set up their own SD departments. From the bank I was seconded to the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs were I developed a policy and strategy concerning Sustainability in Dutch Development Cooperation and aid instruments. I was also a liaison for MLA’s, Sustainability/CSR organizations and NGO’s and involved in the MDGs and PPPs. At the ILO Conference in 2007 I was appointed Rapporteur for the Committee on Sustainable Enterprises and was a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the IMD Sustainable Development peer group.
