Professional Background

International and sustainable development professional with LEED Green Associate credentials and a Masters in Economics and International Development. I have 4 years combined work experience. Versatile skill set with experience in research and data analysis, project management and coordination, teaching, and written and oral communication. As a Research Associate at the Desert Development Center (DDC), at The American University in Cairo, I learned and mastered multiple GHG emission reporting methodologies, and calculated the University’s first GHG inventory. During the project, I utilized my management skills to oversee a team of research assistants, maintained the project timeline, and authored a large portion of the report. Additionally, I engaged in research regarding campus energy and water use, authored proposals for sustainable agricultural research, and helped lead and direct a number of the sustainability initiatives on campus. Some of these activities included conducting building and life-cycle assessments, analyzing waste management practices, strategic planning, and developing awareness campaigns. During my time at the DDC, I greatly expanded my knowledge of sustainable development best practices, sustainability reporting metrics, sustainable agriculture, and found a niche to apply my knowledge in development economics.
