ACHIEVEMENTS AT A GLANCE: There are certain things that I achieved by the grace of God, in these few days: (1) Selected amongst the top 15 international students to attend a course cum discussion on Environmental Management--"Challenge of the Balance-a course cum discussion on policies, politics and practices of Environmental Management", by the Centre for Science and Environment of India.(2010-2011) (2) Selected to participate in the United Nations ASIA-PACIFIC UNEP-TUNZA CONFERENCE, 2012.[ Asia-Pacific UNEP TUNZA Children and Youth Conference will provide inputs to two significant international events, the Rio +20 EARTH SUMMIT and the CBD COP11 being organized in Ahmedabad in October 2012.] (3) Selected to attend the UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT- EARTH SUMMIT – RIO+20,() as an Indian Delegate. Also selected for the 3rd Preparatory Meeting for discussing & drafting the documents for the Rio+20(Earth Summit)(World’s largest summit for sustainable development and climate change). (4) Selected to attend the UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY-Conference of Parties COP- 11, Hyderabad ,India , October 2012. Indian Youth representative at COP 11, Centre for Environment Education in partnership with UNESCO, the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India , a two day international conference on Biodiversity Conservation and Education for Sustainable Development at Hyderabad on 13-14 October, 2012. (5)As an Intern -STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED- Bokaro . (i)Submitted a concept paper : ‘’Advocacy to the Government on behalf of Iron and steel industries(esp. SAIL)’’. It’s a concept of utilizing the financial potential of industries through the compliance dictate of government for the benefit of all the sectors-Government, Environmentalists & Industrialists. (ii)Part of the drafting team-Golden Peacock Environmental Management Award to propose best environmental practices (in and outside plant) for the environmental protection and sustainable development. (Note: SAIL won it. The same draft also won the Greentech Award) (iii)Solar powered ED(W) building bokaro steel plant. It’s a 2.7 crore project accepted by the plant , which in turn will yield 20lakhs per annum. Future prospect of this project is very high as there are approx. 100 buildings same as the ED(W), and the company has immense financial potential whose projects are not below 100 crores. (iv) Submitted ‘Youth Environmental Ambassador Project- a multifaceted approach to bridge the gap between “environmentalism and industrialization”.(also on the verge of becoming one for SAIL-STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LIMITED. Largest steel making company in India and Asia) (6) Project Proposer for “GREEN THE DIOCESE – MISSION 2020 “,Main Coordinator along with The Rt. Revd. Ashoke biswas [Bishop of Diocese of calcutta]. It is the first of its kind under the Church of North India , headed by Diocese of Calcutta , having proper environmental management committee , headed by Abhishek Panja[Main Coordinator]. (7)Main Coordinator of the ECOLOGICAL CONCERNS COMMITTEE( An organization under the Diocese of Calcutta ), registered and is working under the UNITED NATIONS- ECOSOC. –CSO for strategizing Sustainable development . (8 )’Young Leader for Change’- of the UNEP-SAYEN (South Asian Youth Environment Network)
