‘My Job, My Oath’ programme to upgrade talent

Under the auspices of Nasser Bin Khamis Al Jashmi, undersecretary of Ministry of Oil & Gas, Oman oil Company (00C) and Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) on Saturday launched ‘My Job, My Oath’ awareness workshops.
A number of officials from the public and private sectors along with local media representatives attended the ceremony. The programme, which has been designed by 00C, OPAL and The Coach Establishment, consists of a number of one-day awareness workshops presented by Khalfan bin Mohammed Al Esry, chief executive, The Coach, in governorates in the Sultanate.
The programme has been designed to improve the skills of young employees who have recently joined the private sector and to shed light on the importance of their role in nation building.
It will focus on various topics including communications, peer networking, roles and obligations at workplaces as well as topics related to career such as the basics of work ethics, increasing work productivity, and Omani Labour law.
The initiative forms part of OOC’s corporate social responsibility programme, which believes that Omanis are the core element of sustainable development of the Sultanate and aims to develop their capacities and skills.
The programme, which is timed to coincide with OPAL’s celebration of its 10th anniversary, is a new initiative of OPAL towards building capabilities and enhancing awareness of the youths working in the oil and gas industry.
Mohamed Al Harthy, CEO of Opal, said, “This campaign is based on disseminating awareness of work ethics and business culture to raise the performance of our youth working in the oil and gas sector.
The aim is to optimise their potentials and increase their awareness of the importance of serious work commitment, its role in developing the organisations and its impact on the economic cycle.”
Khalfan bin Mohammed Al-Esry urged the youth to be proactive in the nation building process
