Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, today announced that it has successfully sponsored the Journey of Hope, a voyage dedicated to the special needs community in Kuwait and around the world. The company’s sponsorship was highlighted during its participation in the inauguration ceremony that took place on 1 May with the attendance of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al Sabah.

Zain is a staunch supporter of all segments of the Kuwaiti society and continues to look for worthy projects to become involved in. In keeping with this outlook, Zain has been delighted with its sponsorship of the Journey of Hope, given the amount of worldwide attention the voyage is expected to create on topics relevant to people living with special needs.

The company further explained that it participated in the inauguration ceremony with the attendance of the Chief Strategy and CEO Support Officer Shafeeq Al Sayed Omar, where the boat started sailing into the Kingdom of Bahrain. Following visiting Bahrain, the boat will sail to 18 countries around the world including Spain, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States, to promote Kuwait’s support of the special needs community and spread awareness around the topic of supporting this important segment of society. The journey is expected to continue for 210 days, where it will be welcomed back to Kuwait on December 2014.

Zain stated that this initiative, that comes under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, is organized by Kuwaiti volunteers that cater to the important issue of supporting the special needs community in Kuwait. This voyage will not only highlight the challenges people with special needs face to the Kuwaiti community alone, but to the entire world, as Kuwaiti youth with special needs will sail through the seas to deliver the voice of Kuwait’s support to people with special needs to the world.
