Watani Programme and Emirates Transport sign MoU to enhance national identity

Watani Programme signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Transport to strengthen mutual cooperation in efforts to enhance national identity and promote community development culture.

HE Ahmed Obaid Al Mansouri, Director General of Watani, and HE Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, General Manager of Emirates Transport, signed the MoU at Emirates Transport headquarters.

HE Al Mansouri said: "Watani Programme is committed to the launch of initiatives promoting the traditional values among the young generation; and consolidating their loyalty to their homeland and family. The programme also aims to build social cohesion. Enhancement of national Identity requires institutional and individual cooperation across all sectors apart from the launch of promising initiatives and volunteering activities."

Speaking about the importance of this MoU for Emirates Transport, HE Al Jarman said:" This is a major initiative that reflects efforts to inculcate the national identity consistently as a common goal for all state institutions in line with UAE Vision 2012".

Al Jarman noted that the importance of launching innovative initiatives and progammes aims at creating a conscious and coherent generation that is aware of its rights, and exercises its responsibilities effectively, contributing to the development of society and preserving the nation's religion, values and language. Emirates Transport is keen to enhance the loyalty to homeland, leadership and its people by undertaking successful projects.

Al Jarman described the MoU as a path-breaking move that will spread awareness about national identity by co-launching relevant events and activities; affirming the promotion of this culture among Emirates Transport staff and its customers, especially government school students in the UAE. He indicated that, as per the agreement, Emirates Transport will work on supplying the participants of the activities with transports service in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Al Mansouri thanked Emirates Transport for supporting Watani Programme, affirming that the MoU will strengthen their cooperation to achieve common interests.
