United Arab Bank (UAB), rated as one of the fastest growing banks in the UAE, has confirmed its commitment to social causes by supporting the Al Thiqah Club for the Handicapped. The bank has made a generous contribution of AED 250,000 to the club for the welfare and development of the handicapped.

Speaking on the occasion, Paul Trowbridge, Chief Executive Officer at United Arab Bank said: "UAB is firmly committed to giving back to the community. Social responsibility has always been an integral part of UAB's corporate policy wherein we keep looking for opportunities to do something material for the Nation. It gives us a great satisfaction whilst the bank keeps performing exceptionally well year after year."

United Arab Bank has been consistently contributing every year to Al Thiqah club in addition to continuing its other social and community development programmes including the very successful Al Tamyouz programme.

Awni Alami, Deputy CEO commented: "It is UAB's humble way of thanking the nation and the community post a strong 2012 performance. We remain committed to the development of the community in every possible way with real actions."

Sheikh Mohammad Al Nuaimi, Executive Vice President UAB, added: "Our participation in this event underlines UAB's commitment to nation building while growing our business exponentially. Our words are followed by concerted actions towards the development of society. Our Emiratisation levels have consistently grown over the years to reach 43% at the end of 2012."

The Al Thiqah Club honoured Paul Trowbridge and Awni Alami with trophies for their continuous support to this worthy cause.

"UAB's Board of Directors takes a vigorous interest in community welfare including Emiratisation, aligned to its robust financial objectives," concluded Mr. Trowbridge.
