Third Samsung Amman International Marathon to kick-off next on October 28th

In-line with Samsung's strategy to support the local communities and its commitment to corporate social responsibility, The Third Samsung Amman International Marathon will kick-off next Friday the 28th of October with the "Run to Support Education" campaign.

Supporting Samsung's global initiative "Hope for Children", and its program for the SOS villages which was launched in 2010 in the Levant region, which aims at shedding light on the importance of children's education and health, and Samsung's commitment towards facilitating the necessary tools to carry out this mission, the Samsung Amman International Marathon launched the "Run to support Education" campaign to emphasize on the importance of less fortunate and orphaned children's education.

Drawing attention to Samsung's interest and commitment towards supporting global initiatives that benefit children's education, Mr. Sang Sok Roh, Samsung Electronics Levant President, the official sponsor of Amman International Marathon, said "Samsung will donate one book for every contestant participating in the marathon."

Samsung's "Book for Hope" campaign, which aims at supporting education, will be launched at Samsung's booth located in the marathon village in the King Hussein Park. A box will be placed in the booth for registering participants to write encouraging statements, which will be given to the children along with the books donated by Samsung.

An online campaign will also be launched in parallel, where a Facebook application is created for participants to submit their messages for the children as well. The Application "Book of Hope" is under Samsung Levant's fan page.

It is worth nothing that the Third Annual Samsung Amman International Marathon will take place on October 28th, and is grouped into two categories; the 42.195Km run and the 10Km fun run.

Participants from all ages and categories are encouraged to take part in this annual charitable sporting activity, along with more than 10,000 people from 70 countries around the world.
