Since May 2012, the five-star property welcomed the Red Crescent donation booth with a representative on nestled in its Lobby area. Following the success of this initiative, Red Crescent and The Ritz-Carlton, Doha worked on potential initiatives to achieve better and stronger contribution.
This Ramadan, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha acts as a donator by pledging and preparing a daily 150 Iftar meal boxes to be collected and distributed by Red Crescent to people and communities in need. The Ritz-Carlton, Doha also encourage guests to participate in giving back to the community, through volunteer or donation The Ritz-Carlton, Doha hopes to use this initiative to raise further awareness on the importance of sharing and giving back to its society during and after Ramadan.
Mr. Avinash Menon, Area Director of Human Resources of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. Middle East and North Africa quoted, "The holy month of Ramadan is also a time for giving back to the community and this is why The Ritz-Carlton, Doha has tied up with The Red Crescent to donate 150 food boxes of every day during the holy month. There is humility in giving and knowing that we are able to make a difference in a few lives even if it is just one meal."
This daily Iftar giveaway is a part of the many Community Footprints program initiatives in the hotel, where ladies and gentlemen actively take part in social responsibility to the community and to the environment. This year, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha pledges to contribute even more and inspire others after its recent efforts in blood donation, beach cleaning, energy saving, and animal welfare activities.
