Renaissance subsidiary wins Best CSR Initiative award

MUSCAT — Renaissance’s marine and engineering subsidiary, Topaz Energy and Marine, has won an award for the ‘Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative in the Private Sector’ presented at the 8th CSR Summit in Dubai.

The Institute for International Research (IIR) Middle East judged the entrants on their ability to demonstrate a clear commitment to CSR that goes beyond their financial and legal obligations. Topaz was nominated for the award by The Angel Appeal, an initiative launched by the maritime charity ‘Mission to Seafarers’, for its continued support of The Flying Angel since 2008.

The Angel Appeal built and equipped a seafarer support vessel, The Flying Angel, in 2006. The vessel provides the thousands of sailors who are stationed off the coast of Fujairah contact with the outside world after long periods of isolation at sea.
Topaz has supported The Flying Angel in covering full operating costs and is proud be part of this important initiative and to contribute to the improvement of the lives of mariners. The Flying Angel welcomes over 75 seafarers stationed off the coast of Fujairah on board daily.
