RasGas annual charity gala dinner raises over QR1.3mn

RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) raised over QR1.3mn at its 7th annual Charity Gala Dinner event which took place on February 29 in Doha.
All proceeds from the event, which featured a silent auction of Pro Am golf teams and an exciting array of luxury auction and raffle prizes, will be donated to the Qatar National Cancer Society and the Arab Union for the Blind, according to a statement issued by the company.
RasGas managing director Hamad Rashid al-Mohannadi said: “We are delighted by the overwhelming success of this charity event which has raised funds for the Qatar National Cancer Society and the Arab Union For The Blind and are very grateful for the generosity shown by our shareholders, customers, suppliers and employees in raising such a substantial sum.”
“Our Charity Weekend – now in its seventh year – is a key part of RasGas’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme. We believe that adopting a healthy and active lifestyle will benefit the whole community.  This is the focus of RasGas’ ‘Year of Health’ CSR campaign this year and I’m very proud of its positive and demonstrable impact on many worthy causes,” al-Mohannadi said.
He said RasGas is committed to supporting people in need, and to working with registered charitable associations in Qatar to provide targeted and sustained support. All proceeds will be donated through RasGas’ charity fund called “Sunduk Al Kheir”, which was established in 2010 to support long-term initiatives, from donating equipment and material to offering practical and financial resources.
RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is owned by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc. RasGas operates production facilities to treat, liquefy and export LNG to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas.
