Qatargas announced its support to ‘Arshedny Center’ run by Sheikh Eid Charitable Association in the form of a financial contribution. Qatargas’ contribution will be used to support drug abuse awareness and rehabilitation programmes run by Arshedny Centre.
The announcement was made at a joint press conference held at Qatargas’ Head Office building here. The meeting was attended by Mansour Rashid Al Naimi, Qatargas Public Relations Manager, and Sultan bin Abdulla Al Otaibi, Director, Arshedny Center.
Al Naimi said: “We commend the initiative taken by Sheikh Eid Charitable Association and Arshedny Center to address the issue of drug abuse and rehabilitation and we are very pleased to support their efforts in this regard. Supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of society are key elements of Qatargas’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), aligned with the Human Development Pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
“Drug abuse is a matter of great concern in today’s world, especially among the younger generation and has a significant impact on society. We must do everything we can to prevent people from becoming addicted to drugs, as well as to rehabilitate those who have undergone de-addiction programmes, so that they can once again become productive members of the society. We hope this initiative will help in highlighting this issue and encourage other organizations in the country to follow”, he added.
