PepsiCo-Jordan supports White Beds Society

As part of its social responsibility and in line with its efforts to support elderly citizens, PepsiCo-Jordan - winner of the 2009 and 2010 King Abdullah II Award for Excellence - extended its support to the White Beds Society 'WBS', by providing the organization with a solar power system.

Sufian Al Salman, PepsiCo East Med and Africa HR Director, explained that PepsiCo-Jordan's commitment to aiding dedicated organizations that care for the elderly stems from the fact that senior citizens represent a significant segment within the community. He went on to explain that the Company is dedicated to helping these organizations care for the elderly and encourage them to become active members in their community.

"We at PepsiCo-Jordan have a deep-rooted understanding of how important it is to come together to meet the needs of elderly citizens, particularly during the current economic challenges. We strive to provide them with a stable and befitting lifestyle as part of our appreciation for all they have done for our community", Al Salman added.

Al Salman also indicated that PepsiCo-Jordan continuously supports a number of initiatives and programs which target various social segments such as the disabled, orphans and youth amongst others.

WBS takes into its care patients who have stayed in public hospitals for extended periods of time, and helps elderly citizens by providing them with health, medical, psychological and social care. Haifaa Bashir, Head of WBS, thanked PepsiCo-Jordan for its support and encouraged the local community to follow PepsiCo-Jordan's example by backing associations and various segments of the community.
