Oman Oil Company inks training pact with OPAL

Oman Oil Company SAOC (OOC) and Oman Society for Petroleum Service (OPAL) signed an agreement to train for employment 40 high school graduates as part of the company’s on-going Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives that focus on OOC’s commitment to the community and its continuing efforts to build the nation’s talents.

The six-month programme focusing on management and effective business skills will be conducted by private institutions under the direct supervision of OPAL. Upon successful completion of the programme, employment opportunities will be made available to the trainees in the private sector in collaboration with OPAL and its member companies.

Commenting on this, Mulham al Jarf, Deputy CEO of OOC said: “We are proud to be supporting programmes which we believe will contribute positively towards the development of the Omani workforce. The initiative forms part of our contribution to a sustainable economy in Oman and complements our subsidiaries’ efforts in supporting the society in areas such as employment, health, education and building human capital capacity.”

Mohamed al Harthy, CEO OPAL, said “We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to OCC for its contribution to society and its on-going corporation with OPAL. We are delighted to be partnering with OOC in executing the “train for employment” programme that will only serve to enrich the Omani cadre through upgrading the skills of Omani youth as well as contributing to the national economy."
