Nawras ready to spread happiness across the Sultanate with 8th annual Goodwill Journey

Nawras, Oman's customer friendly communications provider, is working around the clock as final preparations are underway for the eighth annual Goodwill Journey.

Two teams of volunteers are getting ready to travel thousands of kilometres over a 10-day period, to visit those attending and working at charitable organisations in towns and villages across the country. The primary focus is to provide much needed equipment to Omani Women's Associations and other charitable groups in various regions across the Sultanate to ensure they remain sustainable long into the future.

Ross Cormack, Chief Executive Officer of Nawras, said, "The Nawras Goodwill Journey has become the cornerstone of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility programme, giving us the opportunity to get closer to the wider Omani community. The caring nature of the Nawras family is demonstrated year after year as the Nawras Goodwill Journey leaves a lasting impression, reaches out to as many people as possible and helps spread happiness to the various organisations we support and the people they help."

On the first leg of the caring journey which is scheduled to kick off on Saturday 28 July, the fasting team of volunteers will leave their families behind and head north from Muscat to Nizwa to visit the Al Noor Association for the Blind.

The Goodwill Journey first began in 2005 when members of the Nawras family wanted to extend help to those who need it most in towns and villages all over Oman. As a responsible organisation that is integral to the Omani community, Nawras, adopted this concept year after year, transforming it into the hallmark initiative it is today. Nawras Goodwill Journey has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of people living in all regions of Oman and the 2012 journey is set to continue to make a lasting difference to those who most need support.
