National Bank of Abu Dhabi publishes 2010 Sustainability Report

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has released its 2010 Sustainability Report.

Entitled ‘Holding Ourselves Accountable’, an executive summary, and the full report, are available for download at www.nbad.com/bank/csr/.
Highlights for 2010 include:

 Maintaining position as one of the ‘World’s 50 Safest Banks’
 Receiving emeafinance, Best CSR Programme in the Middle East
 Exceeding water conservation goals by 12%, reaching 22% reduction in consumption
 Exceeding targets for employment of Nationals - reaching 39% of all employees
 Engaging with suppliers on their own labour practices and policies
 Launching a socially conscious fund 
 Creation of an internal Sustainability Stakeholder Group

NBAD considers itself part of the DNA of Abu Dhabi and as such focuses its strategic efforts in support of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. The 2010 Sustainability Report details the Bank’s contributions toward 10 of the objectives of the Vision and how it intends to continuously improve on these.

NBAD aims to be the leading sustainable bank in the region. To achieve this aim it sets stretching targets with solid commitments to deliver; seeks to engage widely with stakeholders; and to share information – positive and negative - openly, honestly and transparently.
