The Gulf Environment & Sustainable Development Forum (GEF), taking place at the Jeddah Hilton from 25-27 March will feature a number of key Saudi
Dr. Mustafa A. Ukayli, Director of Environment at Ma’aden will deliver a key note speech on 26 March titled Emphasising the Role of Heavy Industry in Pursuing Emissions Reduction and Sustainable Best Practice. In a preview to his session Dr. Mustafa comments; “I will try to map the influence of regulations, industry needs and technology development for the advancement of environmental protection. Both regulators and industrialists need to achieve clean production by introducing clean and environmentally friendly processes.
He continues, “GEF is important, especially for the heavy industry to share experiences, tap new technologies and connect with national and international entities to promote their successes and achievements”.
An expert panel featuring a range of industries have agreed on three key themes for the conference in Green Economy, Green Innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility. These themes will be applied across multiple industrial sectors over the two days.
Held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, the conference features a number of thought leaders from across the region including HRH Prince Turki Bin Nasser, President of PME, HE Dr. Rashed Bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, UAE and HE Dr. Hani Aburas, Mayor of Jeddah.
