KPMG announced its support for Qatar International Businesswomen Forum (QIBF), which is organised by the Qatari Businesswomen Association and Interactive Business Network. The two-day forum begins today.

“We are proud to join as a sponsor for Qatar International Businesswomen Forum,” said Gopal Balasubramaniam, partner, KPMG in Qatar. “We believe that women empowerment is a key element towards real and sustainable development within Qatar. At KPMG in Qatar, our diversity and inclusion strategy is a significant element of our success, and is a key strength in being able to be successful in a fast growing market like Qatar.” 

KPMG’s Global Head of Citizenship, Lord Michael Hastings (pictured) of Scarisbrick, CBE, is the keynote speaker on October 16 of the conference. He was previously the BBC’s first Head of Corporate Social Responsibility having been the BBC’s Head of Public Affairs. Michael is a non-executive Director of British Telecom (on the Board for Responsible and Sustainable Business) and a Trustee of the Vodafone Group Foundation. 

He represents KPMG International on the Global Corporate Citizenship Committee of the World Economic Forum and is a Board Director of the Global Reporting Initiative. In 2011, he became a Vice President of Unicef.
