Dead Sea –April 22, 2012: As part of Hilton Worldwide’s ‘Travel with Purpose’ social responsibility campaign and to mark Earth Day on 22 April, King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre managed by Hilton hosted a major clean-up campaign on the beaches and surrounding area of the Dead Sea with the participation of university students and different associations that are interested in the environment.
Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Environment, and as part of the Public Security Directorate’s celebrations of Al Karama Battle and Mother’s Day, the campaign was organized by the Royal Department for Environment Protection / RANGERS to raise public awareness about the environment and clean the surrounding beaches and public areas.
Naif Zureikat, General Manager of King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre managed by Hilton, commented: “As a Hilton property, we are keen advocates of environmental protection and we truly believe it is everyone’s responsibility to do what they can to take care of the natural world around them. That is why we are delighted to be involved in this joint effort to help safeguard such a beautiful part of our local environment which will help protect and preserve our surroundings”.
Members from KHBTCC’s blue energy committee representing various departments also participated in the clean-up campaign reflecting their commitment to living the Hilton Values.
