FedEx Express supports local educational programme

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and the world's largest express transportation company, announced today that it is supporting a Dubai-based educational initiative known as 'Educate a Child, Build the Nation', which helps bring computer literacy skills to underprivileged children between the age of 7 and 12 years, paving their way to a brighter future.

The recently launched programme is strongly supported by the private and public sectors, which include organizations such as theUAE Ministry of Education, The National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority, General Authority of Youth & Sports Welfare, Bait Al Khair Society, Dubai Charity Association, and others.

"At FedEx, we are committed to proactively improve the quality of life in the communities we live and work in", said David Ross, senior vice president, FedEx Express, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa operations.

"We recognize the importance of fostering children's learning. Education is an indispensable component of sustainable economic growth, both in developed and developing countries. FedEx is proud to support this valuable program". He added.

Corporate social responsibility and community involvement are key components of the FedEx culture.

The company generously supports a wide range of charities in the fields of education, disaster relief, social services, road safety and environment in the EMEA region and around the world.

Charitable donations are complemented by employee volunteerism; last year more than 3,000 FedEx employees donated their time and effort in support of local charities.
