Employee welfare or employee engagement becomes one of the key elements in this Business world to address the issue of employee attrition. Currently employee welfare in UAE is becoming challenging task for the social work professionals working in a corporate setting and the success story is the corporate welfare department in ETA ASCON Star group of companies. ETA ASCON Group is primarily a Contracting firm in the U.A.E. with expertise ranging from Civil Construction to Electro Mechanical, Elevator Engineering and Facilities Management. Since its inception in 1973, the firm has completed projects in excess of Dhs. 5 Billion and numerous landmarks in the Emirates stand testimony to the firm’s engineering capabilities. The company is a part of Al Ghurair Group of Companies, who are the most revered and leading business house in the United Arab Emirates. ETA-ASCON STAR Group is more concerned with employees’ emotional health. We have newly introduced counseling services to take care of the employees’ emotional needs, through which the issue is been addressed. Counseling has been considered as one of the unique humanistic approaches to ease the employees’ stress, as an out burst of personal, family, social and work related factors. This approach creates a psychological bond between the organization and employees. Formation of Welfare Committees in Divisions to coordinate the welfare activities in the respective divisions pays way to identify the employee’s welfare needs of the particular site.  In the present organizational climate all the line managers in the division  have given orientation for creating  employee engagement activities with in the team as well as the HR professionals are responsible for creating such an environment/culture in the organization. Employee welfare practices is been initiated by the welfare Officers from the recruitment stage to develop a good Induction & orientation program for the new joiners on various welfare services, regular updates and training for on job, certification program, In house Magazine, etc. The welfare officers in coordination with HR implements employee welfare programme during Flexi working hours like Birthday party, sports day, quarterly employee recognition award, appreciation of the good job, CSR activities(Employee volunteering ), cultural day, employee outing, etc help the employee to engage in self enrichment activists one of the best social work approach in an corporate industrial sector result in retention of employees in turn reduce the attrition cost and creates a corporate Image. As a result practice of social work methods in industrial setting has created a big impact in business. The present paper explains the impact.
