Emirates Post Group steps up CSR activities

DUBAI -- Emirates Post Group honoured the participants and supporters of the campaign of the Ministry of Labour on banning outdoor work for labourers between 12:30 and 3:00 pm in summer months, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour.

Salem Al Shaya, Assistant CEO, Operations, Emirates Post, handed over certificates of appreciation to participating employees, as well as representatives from companies, at a special ceremony held in Dubai.

“Participation in the campaign stems from the strategy of the UAE government and Emirates Post’s commitment to boost corporate social responsibility among employees,” said Al Shaya. “We congratulate the employees for demonstrating such humanitarian qualities in reaching out to the labourers.”

Participation in the campaign was part of the Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Teams of employees visited workers at their work sites in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, in an effort to appreciate the contribution of labourers to the development of the country and their role in society as well as to raise awareness of their rights, including taking rest in shade during the ban period, as per the directive of the Ministry of Labour.

The volunteers distributed water, soft drinks, snacks and gifts to workers during the outdoor trips to various companies.

The Emirates Post Group’s campaign, which was organised under the slogan ‘My Break from the Sun’, was aimed at encouraging community service among employees, under the direction of Strategic Planning and Excellence Department.

“Our volunteers were delighted to join the representatives of the Ministry of Labour and all other partners and supporters in this successful campaign that promotes a spirit of brotherhood in the community,” Al Shaya said.

Emirates Post Group has been supporting various campaigns and humanitarian initiatives by issuing special stamps and cancellation postmarks on different topics, as a means of spreading important messages.

At the end of the ceremony, Al Shaya presented certificates and trophies to representatives of private and government sector companies, including UAE Red Crescent, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Al Habtoor Group, Bin Ladin Group and Al Salem Group. He also presented certificates to Emirates Post Group volunteers and departments that participated in the campaign.
