Dubai Properties Group partners with DEWA to raise energy conservation awareness

Dubai Properties Group 'DPG', a member of Dubai Holding, has once again partnered with Dubai Electricity and Water Authorities 'DEWA' for the second year running to raise awareness on the importance of electricity and water conservation at its Shorooq Mirdif community.

As part of the initiative, a specially designed DEWA 'Green Zone' bus travelled through a selection of communities in Dubai, including DPG's Shorooq community, to educate residents on energy saving in the UAE.

During the road show, DEWA's society-outreach and engagement field team invited Shorooq residents of all ages on board the bus to attend an educational presentation which included energy conservation tips for families to easily apply in their homes, for example:

1.Turn off lights that are not needed.
2.Replace incandescent light bulbs with new, energy-efficient compact fluorescent lights.
3.Clean light bulbs regularly, since dirt diffuses light, decreasing illumination.
4.Take a quick shower rather than a bath and save an average of 20 gallons '76 liters' of water.
5.Turn off the water when brushing your teeth or shaving and save more than 5 gallons '19 liters' per day.

The partnership is part of DPG's corporate responsibility 'CR' platform, 'Responsible Living', launched in 2011. As part of this programme, DPG facilitates events and joint initiatives with authorities and non-profit organisations to promote different aspects of living responsibly in and around the community.
