Deutsche Bank's Middle East Foundation supports René Moawad Foundation

As part of its commitment to education and social welfare in the region, Deutsche Bank's Middle East Foundation partnered with René Moawad Foundation to support the rehabilitation of the Rene Moawad Technical School in Lebanon.

The Rene Moawad Technical School is a joint venture with the Ministry of Education in Lebanon. The School provides technical education in different educational levels, covering a wide range of specialization to underprivileged students.

Commenting on the partnership, Philippe Vollot, Chairman of Deutsche Bank's Middle East Foundation and the Bank's regional Chief Operating Officer, said: "We are really delighted that we have established this partnership with René Moawad Foundation in Lebanon. Through Deutsche Bank's Middle East Foundation we always aim to break the cycle of youth unemployment through early intervention and help young people reach their full potential by developing employability skills, confidence and aspirations."

Toni Amm, Director of Rene Moawad Technical School, said: "Since its establishment in 2012, the school has build a very good reputation proven by last year's academic results which were nearly the best in the whole North of Lebanon. The support of Deutsche Bank's Middle East Foundation will enable us to renovate the Center's infrastructure and build its capacity to enroll more underprivileged students."

Established in 2008, Deutsche Bank's Middle East Foundation is one of the Bank's many foundations around the globe across Asia, Africa and the Americas. In addition, Deutsche Bank has active Corporate Social Responsibility programs across Europe and the UK. Deutsche Bank's Middle East Foundation focuses on funding investments in arts, education, community development, sustainability, and volunteering in the Middle East North Africa region.

The René Moawad Foundation was created in the beginning of 1991, shortly after René Moawad's assasination, just seventeen days after having been elected President of the Lebanese Republic. The René Moawad Foundation is a non-Profit, non-Political and non-Sectarian Association, it aims at contributing to a project of a United and Pluralistic Society built on Democratic Values. All through the years, it has been working on Social, Human and Economic Development.
